Social media has become one of the most popular activities on the Internet, and with over a billion users participating on various social media platforms, has significantly changed the way Internet is used by individuals and businesses. This Module gives a brief introduction into the world of social media as well as some of it’s more common platforms, advantages and some of the risks in its use.
By the end of this module learners will be able to:
- Explain the concept of social media
- Discuss some advantages and disadvantages of social media
- List at least four(4) social media tool and discuss when to use them
- Explain at least four (4) common social media terminologies
- Describe at least three (3) ways in which individual safety and privacy can be protected while using social media
